The scouts’ motto is founded on my initials,
it is:
BE PREPARED,
which means, you are always in a state of readiness in mind and body to do your DUTY;
Be Prepared in Mind by having disciplined yourself to be obedient to every order, and also by having thought out beforehand any accident or situation that might occur, so that you know the right thing to do at the right moment, and are willing to do it.
Be Prepared in Body by making yourself strong and active and able to do the right thing at the right moment, and do it.
Therefore think it over—Be Prepared to die for your country if need be, so that when the moment arrives you may charge home with confidence, not caring whether you are going to be killed or not.

Scout Master
Why is Scouting important ?
As I look across the range of worthwhile programs in which a students can choose to participate, scouting stands out in two important regards. The first is that Scouting is values-based and the second is that it is scout-lead. On the issue of values, Scouting is a program where who you are matters as much as what you do. As a troop we imbue our scouts with the fundamental values of duty to God, duty to county and duty to self. Scouting helps mature them in the basic principles that will serve as a strong foundation for every decision that he makes for the rest of their life.
The second distinguishing characteristic of Scouting is that it is ‘scout-lead.’ We feel that scouting is much more than learning to camp, use axes, and make fires. While those are important skills, the more valuable lesson is learning how to plan, prepare, and lead. To that end, the Troop is organized and run by the scouts through something called the “patrol method,” with trained adult supervision, of course. The scouts are not simply ‘included’ in the program activities; rather, they plan, prepare, and lead every activity. However, it is through the process of doing it themselves that the enduring lessons of leadership are learned.
