On occasion of National Immunisation Program Primary child Health Care Department recommends certain vaccinations at certain times.
One such program was organized in our school to reach children directly on 23 August 2019.
Immunisation is a simple and effective way of protecting children from serious diseases. It not only helps protect individuals, it also protects the broader community by minimising the spread of disease in children age group between 10yrs -16yrs.
Vaccines work by triggering the immune system to fight against certain diseases.
Also Vitamin syrup was given orally children age group between 4yrs -8yrs.

A Word

From Doctor

” Happy teeth for happy smiles”The camp was initiated with dental awareness talk, educating students about common dental ailments, especially stressing on tooth decay and gum diseases and measures to prevent them. The students were briefed about the eating patterns and food choices which cause tooth decay.

The dental surgeons vividly explained about the possible formation of harmful acid which develops when bacteria (plaque) get in contact with sugar in the mouth which ultimately results in tooth decay. “Added sugars often are present in soft drinks, candies, cookies, pastries and therefore to help control the consumption of sugar. One must read the food labels and choose the right foods and beverages that are low in added sugar”, they added.

The camp gave the opportunity to assess the oral health awareness among the students and learn about the oral hygiene practices which are of great importance in day to day life.
